<p>1416651 Mixing in conduits HOOGOVENS IJMUIDEN BV 19 Nov 1973 [20 Nov 1972] 54627/73 Heading B1C Apparatus for mixing two fluids and especially two gases at widely differing temperatures comprises a conduit 1 for the hotter gas, and a conduit 2 for the cooler gas supplying a ring main 3 at least partly surrounding the conduit 1 and convected thereto by a plurality of pipe bends 4 which extend partly axially and partly radially relative to the conduit 1. The apparatus has a refractory lining 5, 6, 7. The conduits may be of rectangular cross-section; there may be twelve pipe bends extending axially about three times the diameter of the ring main; and their total cross-section is preferably not more than 15% of that of the conduit 1 which is preferably four to eight times that of conduit 2.</p> |
