<p>1401138 Heated food carriers R GRANDI 10 April 1973 [14 April 1972] 17041/73 Heading A4D A food storage and dispensing unit includes a tray body, in the form of a rectangular casing 6 containing a heat insulating mass 1, having recesses 3, 4 which are intended to contain cold foodstuffs. The tray body also has a further recess enclosing a bowl-shaped receptacle 7, the upper peripheral edge portion 8 of which projects slightly above the mass 1. The receptacle 7 contains an electrical resistence heating element 14 immersed in a heat storage liquid 15, e.g. oil, for keeping dishes (not shown) of foodstuffs placed in the receptacle in a hot condition. A stacking cover 10 having a recess for receiving the edge portion 8, forms with the mass 1 a thermal barrier for preventing heat from the receptacle 7 from being transferred to the cold recesses. A plurality of trays and covers may be carried on a wheeled trolley.</p> |
