A strain TM-743 of Bacillus circulans (ATCC no. 31 154) is used for the manufacture of an antibiotic called TM-743. This antibiotic has a high antibacterial activity against pathogenic microorganisms, in particular against Gram-negative bacteria. The TM-743 antibiotic is obtained, for example in the form of its hydrochloride, which is in the form of a white powder, by culturing the strain of Bacillus circulans in a culture medium, by extracting the TM-743, in the form of a solution, from the culture medium and then by separating the TM-743 from the extract solution. |
