摘要 According to one embodiment, an adjustment method is applied to a magnetic disk device includes a disk, and a head including a heater and configured to protrude to the disk based on amount of heat the heater varies. The method includes calculating a first adjust amount by subtracting a difference, for spacing the head from the disk, from a first control amount applied to the heater when the head contacts a first area, calculating a second adjust amount by subtracting the difference from a second control amount applied to the heater when the head contacts a second area, and adjusting a time when the second adjust amount is applied to the heater, based on a result of comparison between the first and second control amounts.

An adjustment method applied to read and write operations of a magnetic disk device comprising a disk, and a head including a heater and configured to protrude to the disk based on amount of heat of the heater varies in accordance with a control amount applied thereto, the adjustment method comprising: calculating a first adjust amount by subtracting a difference, for spacing the head from the disk, from a first control amount applied to the heater when the head contacts a first area included in a plurality of areas into which a storage area of the disk is circumferentially divided; calculating a second adjust amount by subtracting the difference from a second control amount applied to the heater when the head contacts a second area included in the plurality of areas, the second area being adjacent to the first area along a circumference of the disk; and adjusting a time when the second adjust amount is applied to the heater, based on a result of comparison between the first and second control amounts.
