1433153 Bearings SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 13 April 1973 [18 April 1972] 45028/75 Divided out of 1433152 Heading F2A A rolling bearing comprises an inner ring 5 rotatably mounted in an outer ring 2 by a plurality of rolling elements 13, the inner ring having an integral flange 7 extending radially outwards, the junction between the flange and the part of the inner ring supporting the rolling elements having a curved surface 5a facing the outer ring, and sealing means including a sealing element 15 having a line of contact with the outer ring and a line of contact with said curved surface. The sealing element may be made of an elastic material, and the portion in contact with the curved surface may be more resilient than the portion extending between the rings. Two lips 16a, 16b of different sizes may be provided. In a further embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), the sealing element has a thickened portion which is mounted on the outer ring 2, and a further sealing lip in contact with the flange 7.
