1454147 Support strip supporting sliders of sliding clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 16 Dec 1974 [24 Dec 1973] 54190/74 Heading B8C [Also in Division E2] In a support strip 10 supporting a ready-foruse arrangement of slides 11 in the manufacture of sliding clasp fasteners, wherein each of the sliders includes a body 12 having a pair of spacedapart wings which are interconnected at one end of the body by a web 14, the support strip 10 is such that the sliders 11 are removably mounted astraddle one of the longitudinal edges of the strip in side-by-side relationship by partly receiving the latter between the wings of their bodies and has a plurality of constantly-spacedapart switches 15 formed in at least one said longitudinal edge thereof, the spacing between adjacent notches in said support strips being equal to the pitch P of the slides mounted astraddle one longitudinal edge thereof. As shown in Fig. 2, the support strip 10, made of paper, plastics, rubber, sheet metal, or like material, has wedge-shaped notches 15, along each of its longitudinal edges. The notches may alternatively be of V-shape or, of square or rectangular form. The slides can be located between adjacent notches, Fig. 2, or the webs 14 of the respective slides can be engaged in the V; square or rectangular-shaped notches. A sprocket 16, Fig. 5, mounted to rotate in a vertical plane and driven intermittently, has two parallel rows of circumferentially-spaced teeth 17 for engaging the rows of notches in the strip 10 and to feed the latter to a sliding clasp fastener assembling machine, the sliders 11 being formed from the strip while the machine is at rest either manually, or by a push rod (18), Fig. 6, not shown. |
