The disclosure relates to a hand-held label printing and applying apparatus for printing and applying pressure sensitive labels carried on a web of supporting material. The apparatus has a frame with a manually graspable handle. The apparatus has a stationary platen and a print head with selectively settable printing members. The print head is mounted on the frame for movement into and out of printing cooperation with the platen. The apparatus also has a delaminator for delaminating printed labels from the supporting material web and on applicator for applying printed labels. A feed wheel is engageable with the web for advancing the web and effecting label delamination at the delaminator. The apparatus includes mechanism for moving the feed wheel and the print head, and this mechanism has a driving lever, a first gear segment driven by the lever and a second gear segment meshing with the first gear segment, the first and second gear segments being mounted on the frame for oscillating movement relative to the print head, movement of the lever and oscillation of the gear segments effecting movement of the print head. |
