PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a large quantity of D-lactic acid of high optical purity using woody biomass as a raw material and a D-lactic acid producing microorganism.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for producing D-lactic acid from woody biomass using a D-lactic acid producing microorganism, where the fermentation by D-lactic acid producing microorganism is carried out in a culture medium containing cyanocobalamine of which concentration is not less than 0.1 mg/L and riboflavin of which concentration is not more than 0.25 mg/L.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
