<p>1458038 Flash apparatus WEST ELECTRIC CO Ltd 18 Dec 1973 [20 Dec 1972] 58658/73 Heading G2A A camera including a flash source has a first means for controlling the amount of illumination received from the flash, and a second means for controlling the focal distance, the second means being operable either independently or in conjunction with the first means. As shown, the said second means is a slider 5, which can slide along a distance scale and cause corresponding focusing movement of the lens 3. Slider 5 can move independently when daylight photography is being carried out. The said first means is a slider 6 which acts as a switch for energizing the flash 4. Slider 6 has an arm 8 engaging with slider 5, so that when slider 6 moves, slider 5 moves with it. Fixed to slider 6 is a plate 9 which has apertures 10, 11, 12 of different sizes, or filters of different densities. Thus as slider 6 moves, an aperture appropriate to the particular distance setting is selected to control the amount of reflected illumination which passes through the lens to the film.</p> |
