1340280 Valves CIBIE PROJECTEURS 2 Nov 1972 [8 Nov 1971] 50571/72 Heading F2V [Also in Division F4] In a system for controlling the inclination of the headlamps of a motor vehicle in accordance with the attitude of the vehicle body the headlamps are connected by a rod 12 to a piston 18 responsive to the difference in pressure between two fluid conduits 22, 24 and means are provided for venting one of the conduits 22 if the pressure in the other conduit 24 falls below a predetermined value, e.g. as a result of leakage, the headlamps then being tilted to their lowest position by a light return spring 20 acting on the piston. The means comprise a movable valve element 32 sensitive to the difference in pressure between the conduit 24 and a reservoir Po, preferably the atmosphere, a reduction in this pressure difference below the predetermined value being sufficient to permit the valve element 32 to be raised by a spring 34 which simultaneously opens a valve element 28 in the conduit 22. |
