1524282 Stacking sheets LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS GmbH 15 April 1976 [19 April 1975] 15571/76 Heading B8R Letters 5, Fig. 1, are delivered by belts 9, 10 and stacked on edge on a movable belt 3, against a stop wall 20 and against a support plate 6, each new letter being directed against the stack at an acute angle, and correct stacking is assisted by a directing belt 21 which engages the rear edges of the longer envelopes. As the stack grows, the belt 3 moves to the left, and the plate 6 slides on a guide 7. The plate 6 can be manually raised, slid and lowered into the stack to facilitate removal of part of the stack. In another form, Fig. 2 (not shown), the belt 9 passes from guide roller 13, Fig. 1, to roller 14 by way of roller 22, part of it thus constituting the directing belt. In another form, Fig. 3, the delivery belts 29, 30 pass round stationary rollers 11, 12, 25 and 26, 27, 15 and also round sets of rollers 13, 22, 14 and 16, 17, 18, 19, 28 mounted on a movable carriage 23, which moves to the right as the stack grows, while the belt 3 only moves when sheets are removed from the stack by a belt 24 The roller 13 is provided with resilient bristles 13<SP>11</SP>, and may be so provided in the form of Figs. 1 and 2. |
