<p>The compact labeller has low inertia, short travel and timed intermittent drive. A motor (44) drives the gluing roller (8) and labelling belts (42). The fixed axis gluing roller is magnetically and coaxially clutch driven and braked. A knee joint linkage (32) moves the label holder (26). With the gluing roller and belts running, and the label holder retracted, a passing box (3) activates a switch, braking the roller. The label holder moves inwards, pressing the front label's leading edge to the glued (13) roller. Holder retraction partly withdraws the label. A second switch activation releases roller braking for complete withdrawal, with backing at another roller (40).</p> |
