<p>1418744 Apparatus for treating industrial waste water ELKEM-SPIGERVERKET AS 2 Feb 1973 [4 Feb 1972] 5392/75 Divided out of 1418743 Heading C1C As shown in the Figure, a reaction vessel for treating industrial waste water comprises inner (2) and outer chambers (1), inlet means (3) for waste water communicating with the inner chamber, outlet means (5) for treated waste water communicating with the outer chamber, the inner and outer chambers being devoid of communication one with the other but being separated by a common wall over which waste water may flow from the inner to outer chamber without recirculation, and agitator means (4) for mechanically agitating the inner chamber contents to promote flocculation. The inner and outer chambers are of circular cross-section and concentric. In the example waste water containing cyanides is treated with NaOH and NaOCl to form cyanates and then passed to a sedimentation tank.</p> |
