摘要 <p>1408738 Automatic control of vehicles INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO 8 Nov 1973 [9 Nov 1972] 51826/73 Heading G3N A vehicle of the type having an implement movably mounted on a support and positioned in response to the operation of a control handle from a neutral position into which it is biased is adapted for use with a potentiometric positional follow-up system whereby the control handle is retained in the operative position by an electromagnet, which directly holds the handle, or an attached armature, until the positioning operation is completed. As shown, a reference potentiometer 32 set to a desired implement position by an operator, is connected, in parallel with an actual-position potentiometer 44, to a battery supply 36. The slider voltages are compared in a device 42 which energizes a handle-holding electromagnet 60. In use, the reference potentiometer is set and the handle moved to initiate a lowering of the implement where it is held by the electromagnet. When the slider voltage of the potentiometer 42 equals that of the reference, the electromagnet is de-energized and the handle returns to the neutral position and stops the implement at the desired position. The arrangement is disclosed with respect to the setting of the dig position of a bucket of a front-end loader.</p>
