<p>The machine grades fruit by weight, each item being accommodated in a travelling cup pivoting on an eccentric axis and held in the horizontal position by a pin on it running along a rail. The cups travel in rows one behind the other, so as to form an endless chain, and the rail is interrupted at intervals by the sensitive portions of preset weighing units. These units (8) are mounted above the cups (4), the sensitive portions (10) being suspended from them in the manner of the scales of a balance. These portions can each be suspended from a slide working in a vertical guide fixed to the rail.</p> |
