<p>A cable or fishing net which has a non-rotating shaft (A) supported between two arms (D). The shaft carries a disc cam (B) which is fixed centrally and increases in thickness over 180 deg. and then decreases. Spring loaded jaws (M, L) bear each side of the cam, with their ends retained in sliding bearings (F) against face plates each side. Jaws and plates are driven by a motor and, as the assembly rotates about the shaft, the jaws are opened and closed by the variation in cam thickness. The net or cable is automatically gripped for part of the cycle and released as it falls from the winch. Friction coatings (S) on the jaws air gripping.</p> |
