The cash calculator and paper strip account printer, which justifies the printout w.r.t. the right hand column, has four basic arithmetic operations, and limited non-arithmetic message printout facilities. The machine consists of a keyboard, a fixed store, decoding network, a control network and a number of registers and code generators. They are linked at their output to a printer via a shifting register and print control circuit. The output shift register (J) is used to justify the results of any calculations performed in the remainder of the logic before printout. This applies to non-arithmetic operations as well as arithmetic.
