A method of preparing a ferric salt, such as ferric sulfate, ferric chloride, poly-ferric sulfate, poly-ferric chloride, and poly-ferric chloride sulfate, with electrolysis. The basicity of a product can be conveniently controlled via the electrolysis process. In an electrolytic tank having an anion exchange membrane as an electrolytic separator membrane, ferric salt products are generated in anode chamber, while pure electrolytic iron, hydrogen gas, zinc, and other products are generated in a cathode chamber. Sources of required materials, such as ferrous sulfate, ferrous chloride, waste hydrochloric acid, and waste sulfuric acid are titanium dioxide and byproducts and wastes from the circuit board industry, stainless steel etching industry, steel industry and the like. |
