<p>A band saw in which a continuous, electrically conductive band having cutting teeth along one edge is mounted about spaced apart support pulleys. A linear induction motor drives the band about the pulleys; the motor has a stationary induction field system as the primary driving element of the motor, mounted in operative relation to the band to drive it about the pulleys, and the band itself constitutes the motor armature.</p> |
