<p>1499337 Valves REVLON-REALISTIC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS Inc 24 Dec 1974 [4 April 1974] 55812/74 Heading F2V [Also in Divisions B1-B2] A valve for controlling the supply of fluid to a spray dispenser (see Divisions B1-B2) comprises a plug 64 having a cylindrical bore in which is mounted a valve housing 82, a spring- loaded ball, valve 88 and 0-ring seals 77, 78 disposed between the end of said valve housing and an inwardly directed shoulder at the end of the plug, and a hollow lug 129 sealingly disposed within the O-ring seal and engaging against the ball valve to hold said valve open so that fluid supplied to the valve housing passes through a slot 134 into the lug 129, the arrangement being such that when the lug is removed from the plug, the ball valve seats against the 0-ring seal before the housing is removed sufficiently to break the seal between the lug and the 0-ring, thereby preventing the escape of fluid.</p> |
