1499450 Door actuation; stays INSTITUTE FOR INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH & STANDARDS 31 Dec 1975 [24 Jan 1975 3 April 1975] 53263/75 Headings E2F and E2M In an actuator for imparting relative angular movement between a door 4 hinged to a frame 2, 3, a flexible substantially inelastic retaining means 7 is connected between anchorage points 9 and 10 on the door and frame respectively and an elongated inflatable conduit 6 is located between the retaining means 7 and the door 4 whereby inflation of the conduit 6 by air moves the retaining means 7 to cause relative angular movement between the door and the frame. A torsion bar 26 is pivotally mounted by a link 32 to enable the door to return to its closed position when air has been evacuated from the conduit 6. The torsion bar 26 is anchored at its lower end to a pre - tension device 27 fastened to the door 4. |
