<p>1509276 Modulation-contrast microscope R HOFFMAN 14 April 1975 15266/75 Heading G2J To render phase objects visible in a microscope system, the image of a slit below the condenser position is formed at a Fourier transformation plane behind the objective and is there intercepted by a modulator having at least two different density regions providing an abrupt change in density between the regions. Preferably these regions are provided, one corresponding to the slit and the contrast of the visible image may be altered by angularly displacing a plane glass sheet above the slit. A modification to use reflected light is also disclosed. The modulator may have coloured regions so that the object is contrasted to a different coloured background.</p> |
