Double drum filter esp. vacuum filter consists of two drums rotating in the opposite sense to each other and contacting each other. Side walls are pressed against the underside of both drums. Each drum has a control head contg. control discs with adjustable zone definition e.g. for suction and drying zones. A blowing zone is also connected into the control head, to aerate the cells. A recycle is provided of filtrate from the suction zone back into the trough, the latter being formed from the side walls and the drums. Used to filter slurries, etc. Filter allows the initial filtrate which may be loaded with solids to be recycled. In this way the clarity of the final filtrate is improved and the filter can cope with finer particles. |
