The appliance (1) has an electric motor (4) for driving a rotatably mounted drum (2) and/or a process air blower. A control and/or measurement unit (6) determines air flow capacity of the blower and the remaining drying time (lambda t) and/or the load (B) i.e. weight of clothes, in the drum based on a detected electrical parameter e.g. current, of the motor. The control and/or measurement unit controls the heating capacity for the drying operation based on the air flow capacity, the remaining drying time and the load in the drum. |
