<p>1431581 Bags F NATTRASS and P J NATTRASS 29 March 1974 [3 April 1973] 15798/73 Heading A4G [Also in Division B8] A bulk storage bag is provided with four lifting loops 4 around its top, each loop being secured to the bag fabric by folding the fabric around each loop leg 7 and then back over itself and stitching through the three widths of the bag fabric and the leg. The bag may be woven from jute, polyethylene terephthalate, rayon, or nylon but is preferably woven from polypropylene, the fabric having a tensile strength of 150 Kg per inch width. The loop material has a breaking load of at least 600 Kg preferably 1810 Kg, and is formed by 2 inch wide woven polyethylene terephthalate webbing. The stitched-on cover 13 having a drawstring closeable opening is provided at the top of the bag, which may be provided with a detachable or fixed polythene liner. The bags may be stacked one upon the other when filled and are emptied by slitting the bottom. Alternatively, as described in Specification 1431582, a reusable bag may be provided by forming a hemmed aperture in the bottom and overlying the aperture with a replaceable polyethylene sheet, which is cut to release the contents. In another modification, the bag may be provided with a draw-string closure at its bottom.</p> |
