The method involves providing a receiver (40) for receiving broadband multicast signals that are distributed over a broadband-telecommunication network by using server devices, where the receiver is provided with a proxy-unit (50) for communication with the server devices (11, 12). Configuration information is dynamically transmitted to the receiver over a configuration or routing protocol e.g. dynamic host configuration protocol, routing information protocol or open shortest path first protocol, for determining an interface for communication direction from the receiver to the server devices.
