Hexakis(2-pyridylthio)tetrazinc monooxide having the formula: is obtained by reacting bis(2-pyridylthio)zinc with water or with zinc oxide or zinc hydroxide, or by reacting 2-pyridinethiol with zinc oxide or zinc hydroxide or with a zinc salt in the presence of water or a base. The 2-pyridylthiozinc-oxide complex obtained is useful as an anti-deteriorating agent for polyolefins which are subjected to thermal and oxidative deterioration, and is particularly useful against deterioration caused by contact with heavy metals.
