1520274 Paving blocks C D HODSON 1 July 1975 [12 July 1974] 30989/74 Heading E1B A paving block has parallel main wearing faces interconnected by side 4 and 5 and end 14 and 19 walls perpendicular thereto, the walls being parallel to and separated from by a constant spacing the sides and ends respectively of a geometric configuration having outwardly flared recesses 6, 7, 10, 11, 15 and 18 and inwardly flared projections 8, 9, 12, 13, 16, 17 and 21, the projections 21 extending from the inner face of the adjacent recess by one half the extension of the other projection defining said recess, and each recess in a side wall lying opposite a projection in the other side. The blocks can thus be layed to form an interlocking paving with a constant joint gap equal to twice said constant spacing therebetween, the gap being filled with sand or other suitable material. The corners of the projections and recesses of the block are radiussed and the upper edge is bevelled. Special blocks are provided for edges and corners. |
