PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a cutting machine by making a machine that machines a work while travelling on it. CONSTITUTION:A linear motor 30 is mounted on the main body 20 of a cutting machine and a machining surface detector 50 that detects a datum machining surface is equipped on the main body 20. Further, arranged a machining surface guide machanism 60 which adjusts the position of the main body 20 corresponding to the output of said detector and a controller which memorizes machining patterns. By so doing, the machine itself travels over a work, and the cutter 80 attached to the front end in the advancing direction of the main body 20 machines the work following the machining patterns selected from the memory of said controller. |
