PURPOSE:To make possible the formation of a laser beam having large energies by superposing laser beams of small beam energies of different wavelengths by using a dichroic mirror and a polarizing beam splitter. CONSTITUTION:The laser beams emitted from semiconductor laser elements 23-1 thru 23-5 may by superposed to be formed as a laser beam 25 by dichroic mirrors 24-1 thru 24-4. The laser beams emitted from semiconductor laser elements 23-6 thru 23-10 may be superposed to be formed as a laser beam 26 by dichroic mirrors 24-5 thru 24-8. Next, a polarizing beam splitter 27 splits the laser beam 25 to P polarized light and the laser beam 26 to the S polarized light, and these may be superposed to be constituted as one laser beam 28. In this way, a multiplicity of laser beams may be superposed. |
