PURPOSE:To cool wire uniformly, by installing chain guides at a suitable pitch over whole length of, or over a portion of, a vonveying apparatus, and by rocking the wire up and down by the rocking motion of the conveying chain. CONSTITUTION:Required number of chain guide 10, whose upper surfaces are shaped into circular arcs, are installed at such a height that the upper surface 13 of a chain 7, which supports wire 5, is higher by h than the upper surface 12 of skid rails 6. The chain 7 is suspended between chain guides 10, 10 by its own weight. Driving of the chain 7 under the conditions rocks the chain 7 up and down so that the wire 5 is detached periodically from the chain 7 and the skid rail 6 while being conveyed. This constitution makes gaps at the contact part of the wire with chain, or with skid rails, and at the overlapped part of the wire, and the whole wire is cooled uniformly by blowing a fluid such as air to the gaps. |
