The object is to provide a gearwheel-driven rotary device in which errors in the form of deviations in the processing length are compensated. For this purpose, the roll (1), the concentricity error of which is characterised in terms of magnitude and phase position and which is provided with a wheel flange (3), is associated in error-compensated fashion, via adjusting means (5), with a gearwheel (4) whose overall variation (total composite error) and/or axial run-out are indicated in terms of magnitude and phase position on a gauge collar ground on concentrically with respect to the toothing axis. The device is used, in particular, with processing machines, e.g. printing machines, in which truth of running is required. <IMAGE>
