The level indicator has a motor (3) which is mounted in a floating manner and whose housing (3a) is held in the direction of rotation of its rotor by a tension spring (8) which is fixed to the housing (1) of the level indicator. Via a rotary shaft (4), the motor (3) drives a rotary wing which is inhibited in its rotary movement, caused by the motor (3), due to the bulk material in the hopper. This triggers a rotary movement of the motor (3) in the opposite direction to the rotary movement of the rotary wing. The motor (3) adjusted in its arrangement in this manner triggers a delayed-action microswitch (9) by means of a cam disc (7) mounted on the stator of the motor (3). The motor (3) is thus switched off and a signal is generated. <IMAGE>
