<p>The printing process is for paper etc. the patterns being applied to the paper and fixed in it. The paper is evenly covered with colouring matter in a colouring station, after which the matter is brought in a pre-fixing station near to a fluid or molten state. A symbol generator then directs a modulated beam onto the coloured side of the paper, raising the matter to above melting point at the places where the symbols to be printed are to be formed. The beam can be a laser beal. The pre-fixing station can have two pressure rollers between which the paper passes, one at least being translucent, while the symbol generator is mounted near to it, the ray from it passing through the roller onto the paper.</p> |
