1457718 Making bottle capsules; seaming SOC EUROPEENNE DE RECHERCHE ET D'EXPLOITATION COMMERCIALE ETAB 30 July 1975 [2 Aug 1974] 31857/75 Headings B3A and B3J Weakening grooves are impressed in metal foil 1 between two rollers 12, 13 one of which (13) comprises steel washers 34, Figs. 4 and 6, clamped on a shaft 48 between inner distance pieces 49 and outer distance pieces 53, 53A, the latter shaping spaced peripheral segments 40 of the washers 34 which have external grooveforming edges 35 projecting outwardly of the distance pieces 53, 53A. As shown, lines of weakness 8, 9, 10 or 11, Fig. 1, are formed in continuation of the tabs 7 of bottle &c. capsules 2 to be blanked out of the foil. The segments 40 are formed by radial and arcuate cuts 42, 46, the cuts 46 being at the diameter of the spacers 49 which thus support the segments 40. Keys 50, 52 are provided between the inner and outer distance pieces and between the inner distance pieces and the shaft 48. |
