NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I (Ar is 2-thienyl, 3-thienyl, phenyl, p-alkanoyloxyphenyl, etc.; B<1> and B<2> are H, alkyl, aralkyl, aryl) or their salts. EXAMPLE:7beta-[alpha-Carboxy-alpha-(3-thienyl)acetamide]-7alpha-methox y-3-(1-methyltetrazole-5-yl)thiomethyl-1-oxadethia-3-cepham-4-carboxylic acid. USE:Antibacterial and bactericidal agent or their synthetic intermediates, being effective on both gram-positive and -negative bacteria and further on bacteria producing beta-lactamase and resisting cephalosporin. PREPARATION:The compound of formula II is made to react with a malonic derivative of formula III or its reactive derivative to produce the compound of formula I. The reaction is carried out in a solvent and, when necessary, a condensation agent, acid acceptor, and an organic base are added. |
