PURPOSE:To prepare a composition useful as coatings or adhesives for rust prevention or leak prevention of metal cans, etc., by dispersing a polyamide resin in a solution obtained by dissolving an epoxy-phenolic resin in a poor solvent for the polyamide resin, and having the equal density to that of the polyamide resin. CONSTITUTION:A homogeneous and stable dispersion is prepared by dispersing polyamide resin fine powder having the particle size of 1-100mu, particularly of 1-60mu, in a solution obtained by dissolving an epoxy-phenolic resin in a poor solvent (e.g. toluene, etc.) in which the polyamide is substantially insoluble at ordinary temperature, and having substantially equal density to that of the polyamide. The dispersion is applied to a substrate, dried by vaporizing a large part of the solvent, and heated at 120-350 deg.C thereby curing the epoxyphenolic resin and melting the polyamide resin to form a film. The coating film thus obtained has excellent adhesive properties, improved chamical resistance and corrosion resistance. |
