In order to produce installations such as shop counters, control panels, switching cabinets etc. from a framework of profiles, high aesthestic requirements are placed on the connection of the profiles. The structural element set conforms with this requirement and additionally makes possible a robust, posivitively-locking connection of the profiles. Two profiles (1) which abut against one another at any angle and in each case have a box-shaped groove (10) which is open on one side are connected to one another via a part (2) which can be deformed. The part (2) which can be deformed is held by means of screws (4) on anchoring devices (3) which are supported firmly in the grooves (10), and profiles (1) are pulled together. <IMAGE>
