PURPOSE:To readily manufacture and correct the directivity of a radar by controlling the receiving sensitivity thereof at timing using an antenna having no cosecant square pattern to thereby obtain the cosecant square pattern. CONSTITUTION:A radar receiver consists of an antenna 1 having no cosecant square pattern such as a fan beam antenna, an amplifier 2 and a sensitivity limiter 3. Every time a transmission wave is emitted from a transmitter 4 via the antenna 1 by a transmission trigger signal, a gain control signal generator 5 generates a gain control signal having predetermined waveform to the sensitivity limiter 3 to thereby control the receiving signal to become constant regardless of the distance from the target in its sensitivity. Thus, it can provide characteristic corresponding to the cosecant square pattern and correct the directivity thereof by altering the characteristic of the generator 5. |
