CONTINUOUS SULPHUR DROSSING PROCESS

A continuous sulphur drossing process for the decoopering of lead. The process comprises treating lead bullion with sulphur in at least two reaction stages in series, with agitation, adding sulphur to the lead bullion in at least one of the reaction stages, continuously and concurrently transferring the lead bullion, dross and any unreacted sulphur from each reaction stage to the next, and separating the dross from the decoppered bullion in a dross separation stage that is without agitation.
