<p>The tensioning unit comprises a self-contained gas spring (R) mounted vertically, with the blank end (2) at the bottom. This lower end is attached to a rigid bracket (t1) which passes upwards along the length of the cylinder (1) at each side, to be fixed to a point (b1) on the vehicle body (V). The rod (6) of the gas spring cylinder is attached to a separate bracket (t6) which passes downwards over the length of the cylinder each side and terminates in a loop (b6). The latter acts as a support for the belt (c) and provides the necessary tension.</p> |
