PURPOSE:To minimize engagement shocks occurring in a friction engagement unit, by supplying a pressure, which the friction engagement unit is to receive, to an intesifying chamber of a throttle modulator valve. CONSTITUTION:A pressure, which is friction engagement unit for obtaining a certain speed change step of a transmission is to receive, is supplied to an intensifying chamber 111h of a throttle modulator valve 110. As a result, a throttle modulator pressure varies in accordance with a speed change step so that the operation of the friction engagement unit is varied in a suitable manner in accordance with variations in the throttle modulator pressure and speed change step. Consequently, engagement shocks in the firction engagement unit can be minimized, and a much better speed change feeling can be obtained. |
