PURPOSE:To provide a low-cost solid lubricant consisting of an organic compound having a specific structure, having excellent lubricity under high load, a high and a low temperatures and a high vacuum, and free from chemical toxicity, corrosivity to metals, and ill odor. CONSTITUTION:A solid lubricant consisting of an organic compound of formula I or II (all of R1-3 are -NH2 or =NH; or one of the R1-3 is -NH2 or =NH, and the others are -OH or =O; or all of R1-3 are -OH or =O). Examples of the compound of formula I are melamic acid, cyanuric acid, and that of the formula II is isocyanuric acid. EFFECT:Burning of a lubricating oil by adding fine powder of the solid lubricant, and reduction of the frictional coefficient between two sliding faces by applying the powder. Addition to water, mineral oil, etc., gives a liquid lubricant, compounding with grease, fats, etc. affords a semi-solid lubricant, and kneading into a plastic compound provides a self-lubricating composite material. |
