The body (10) and lid (12) of a container have respective elements (20, 22) which are secured together. If the elements are subsequently found to be unsecured, this indicates that the container has been opened. The securing of the elements may be by welding or other sealing (Figures 4,7 and 8); by rivetting (Figure 5); by a barbed member (26) on one element irreversibly pushed through an aperture (28) in the other element (Figure 3); or by a member on one element passed through an aperture in the other element and thereafter deformed to prevent its withdrawal (Figure 6). <IMAGE> |
