PURPOSE:To attain mass production of a molded article efficiently by a method wherein a thermal foaming polystyrene beed is thermally foamed within a split die for developing a molding, opening the die by holding with one die after cooling, vacuum foaming the outer layer on the molding surface of other die, and mold clamping the die. CONSTITUTION:Thermally foaming polystyrene beed is filled into the cavity 3 of split dies 1, 2, allowing to thermally foam by introducing the steam in order to obtain polystyrene beed foam molded article A. Next, after the article A is cooled, the die is opened by holding the article A at one die 1 side, other die 2 departing from the article A being used as a vacuum mold, on the molding surface thereof the outer layer B being vacuum molded to hold, or the vacuum molded outer layer B being held by other die, the outer layer B covering over the molding A surface by mold clamping the dies 1 and 2 for obtaining the desired molded article. |
