PREPARATION OF PLASTIC LENS

PURPOSE:To improve mold releasing performance and give lenses excellent optical surfaces by using polyaryl diglycol carbonate for a mold. CONSTITUTION:When plastic lenses containing hydrophilic (meth)acrylate are produced by cast polymerization, polyaryldiglycol carbonate is used for a mold. This polyaryldiglycol carbonate mold is obtained by casting aryldiglycol carbonate into a glass mold and polymerizing it. In order to further improve mold releasing performance between a mold and a plastic lens containing hydrophilic (meth)acrylate, polyaryldiglycol carbonate molds which are manufactured by adding mold releasing agents such as silicone or phosphate ester beforehand in aryldiglycol carbonate are used.
