<p>The car door latch has a base plate on which a rotor is mounted. The rotor is fork shaped and engages with a stud on the door post. A spring loaded arm acts with a ratchet to prevent rotation of the rotor. The latch actuating arm (8) is pivoted on a hollow, internally threaded bush (16) secured to the base-plate (2). A screw (14) passes through the door panel (3), the rotor cover flange (17) and engages with the internally threaded bush. The strong mounting of the lever pivot eliminates distortion of the base plate for attempted forced opening.</p> |
