PURPOSE:To clean printing types automatically in a short time by performing printing operation in the presence of a cleaning web set on the running system of a ink ribbon. CONSTITUTION:Printing paper 1 and an ink ribbon 2 extended between winding spools 8 and 8' are located between a print hammer 4 excited by a hammer magnet 5 and a printing-type drum 3, and printing is performed by reciprocating the ribbon 2 between the spools 8 and 8'. Next, the ribbon 2 and the printing paper 1 being removed, a cleaning web 10 is extended between spools 8 and 8' and the printing is made, accompanying the reciprocating motion of the web 10 between the spools 8 and 8', thus the printing types on the drum 3 being cleaned by the web 10. |
