Arrangement for monitoring and controlling the position of an endless belt running across two rollers, preferably a sanding belt in a belt sanding machine, so that the belt's change in axial direction of the rollers can be kept to a minimum and good safety is accomplished in the event of belt rupture or other operational disturbances. According to the invention, the arrangement is characterised in that the one roller 1 is arranged such that it can swing by means of an actuating device 14; 30 about an axle 3; 19 parallel to a line through and perpendicular to the centre axles of the rollers, so that the belt 2 travelling over the rollers can shift in the axial direction of the rollers, and in the region of one belt edge there is arranged an optical sensor arrangement with three detection positions, wherein the sensor arrangement has a connection via a control unit 13 to the actuating device and a brake arrangement 15 for changing the direction of deflection of the roller each time the belt edge passes the central detection position and to brake the rollers if the belt edge passes either of the outer detection positions. <IMAGE> |
