PURPOSE:To improve selecting speed of core without any loss of selecting accuracy by a metod wherein cores are selected by utilizing magnetic image effect generated between a selecting core and a flat plate yoke. CONSTITUTION:An exciting coil 3 is installed to be attached to or close to a flat plate so that the direction of its magnetic field at the central axis is directed perpendicular to a flat plate yoke 6 when exciting current is flowing. A search coil 4 is installed inside the exciting coil 3 so that central axes of the exciting coil and the search coil may coincide. First a core 1 to be selected is inserted into the search coil 4 through an opened upper end of the exciting coil, and placed on the flat plate yoke 5, and its magnetic characteristic is measured by the exciting coil 3 being energized. At this monent between the yoke 5 and the core 1 magnetic image effect is generated, and magnetic characreristic in a long size is obtained because of less reactive magnetic field than that of single insertion of the iron core. |
